The vehicle was restarted multiple times in order for the vehicle to function properly. The vehicle is in the shop again for the fourth time, same issue. To clear the message, I have had to restart the car, shift out of park and back into park more forcefully than I want to or, while the ignition is off, push the gear shift harder to park. I usually pulled over to the service lane turned my vehicle off for a minute or so restart the engine and I'm able to go about my way (I learned to do that by reading countless msgs online of other motorist complaining about the same issue on vehicles with mileage as low as 2,600 miles. The ssue has never been addressed by the dealership and during the most recent incident august 2018 I took the car in to advise them of this issue in addition to a knocking sound in the rear of the car. I will have been pulled in my driveway already in park mode, I will have to keep starting and stopping the vehicle to get the vehicle to recognize it is already shifted gears into the park position.
